Introduction

The way people shop for groceries has changed significantly over the past decade. With busy lifestyles, increasing digital adoption, and a growing preference for convenience, online supermarkets and shopping websites have become an essential part of modern living. Consumers no longer want to spend hours visiting physical stores, waiting in long lines, or carrying heavy grocery bags. Instead, they prefer a smarter, faster, and more efficient way to shop.

Online supermarkets provide a complete solution by offering fresh groceries, household essentials, and daily-use products directly to customers’ homes. This shift toward digital grocery shopping is not just a trend—it is the future of retail.

What Is an Online Supermarket?

An online supermarket is a digital platform where customers can purchase groceries and household items using a website or mobile device. These platforms replicate the experience of a physical supermarket while adding the benefits of technology, such as faster ordering, product search, and home delivery.

Typical product categories available on an online supermarket include:

Fresh fruits and vegetables

Meat, poultry, and seafood

Dairy and bakery products

Snacks and beverages

Frozen and packaged foods

Cleaning and household supplies

Personal care and hygiene items

All these products are available in one place, making online supermarkets extremely convenient for everyday shopping.

Why Online Grocery Shopping Is Becoming Popular

1. Time-Saving Convenience

Online grocery shopping allows customers to place orders in just a few minutes. There is no need to travel to a store or spend time browsing aisles.

2. 24/7 Accessibility

Unlike physical stores, online supermarkets are available at all times. Customers can shop early in the morning, late at night, or during breaks.

3. Wide Product Selection

Online platforms usually offer thousands of products, giving customers more choices than a single physical store.

4. Easy Price Comparison

Customers can quickly compare prices, read product details, and choose the best options within their budget.

5. Secure Digital Payments

Modern online shopping websites provide safe and reliable payment options, increasing customer confidence.

The Role of Online Supermarkets in Modern Lifestyles

Online supermarkets are not only about convenience; they also support a smarter lifestyle. Families can plan weekly grocery orders, professionals can save valuable time, and elderly customers can shop without physical strain.

In addition, online platforms reduce unnecessary travel, helping customers save fuel and effort while enjoying a more organized shopping experience.

The Future of Online Supermarkets

As internet access and digital payment systems continue to improve, online supermarkets will play an even bigger role in everyday life. Faster delivery options, better customer experience, and improved logistics will further strengthen this sector.

Consumers are now looking for platforms that combine quality products, reliability, and ease of use—and this is where trusted online supermarkets stand out.

Conclusion: Choose Varus.ua for Smart Online Grocery Shopping

If you are searching for a reliable, modern, and user-friendly online supermarket, Varus.ua is an excellent choice. The platform offers a wide range of grocery and household products, easy navigation, and convenient delivery options designed for today’s consumers.

Online shopping websites have transformed the way people purchase products, and grocery shopping is no exception. What was once considered a risky or inconvenient option has now become a preferred method for millions of households. With improved technology and reliable logistics, online supermarkets are redefining convenience and efficiency.Consumers today expect fast service, high-quality products, and a smooth shopping experience—all of which online grocery platforms aim to deliver.

Traditional Grocery Shopping vs Online Supermarkets

Traditional grocery shopping often requires significant time and effort. Customers must travel to stores, navigate crowded aisles, and wait in checkout lines. Online shopping websites eliminate these challenges by offering a digital alternative.

With online supermarkets, customers can shop from anywhere, select products with ease, and receive orders at their doorstep or through convenient pickup options.

Key Features of a Good Online Supermarket Website

1. User-Friendly Design

A clean and simple website design helps users browse categories, search for products, and place orders without confusion.

2. High-Quality and Fresh Products

Product quality is critical, especially for groceries. Trusted online supermarkets focus on freshness and proper handling of items.

3. Reliable Delivery Services

On-time and safe delivery builds trust and encourages repeat customers.

4. Discounts and Promotions

Online shopping websites often provide special offers, deals, and discounts that help customers save money.

5. Secure Shopping Experience

Secure payment gateways and transparent order tracking ensure a safe shopping experience.

Why More People Are Choosing Online Grocery Shopping

Several factors contribute to the growing demand for online supermarkets:

Busy schedules and limited free time

Increased use of smartphones and digital payments

Desire for convenience and comfort

Preference for organized and planned shopping

These factors make online grocery platforms an ideal solution for modern households.

How Online Shopping Improves Quality of Life

Online grocery shopping reduces stress and improves time management. Instead of spending hours shopping, customers can focus on work, family, or personal activities. It also allows better budgeting, as customers can see total costs before checkout.

For many people, online shopping websites are no longer a luxury—they are a necessity.

Final Thoughts: Varus.ua – A Trusted Online Supermarket

Choosing the right online supermarket makes a big difference in your shopping experience. Varus.ua offers a reliable platform that combines convenience, product quality, and customer-focused service. It brings the trusted supermarket experience into the digital world, making everyday shopping easier and more efficient.

Healthy, glowing skin starts with a consistent beauty routine tailored to your skin type. Skincare is not about using countless products but understanding what your skin needs and maintaining good habits that support long-term results.

Cleansing is the foundation of any skincare routine. Removing dirt, oil, and impurities helps prevent breakouts and keeps skin fresh. Choosing a gentle cleanser suitable for your skin type ensures effective cleansing without stripping natural moisture.

Hydration is another crucial step. Moisturizers help maintain the skin’s barrier and prevent dryness. Well-hydrated skin appears smoother, brighter, and more youthful. Drinking enough water also plays a key role in maintaining skin health from within.

Exfoliation helps remove dead skin cells and promotes cell renewal. Regular exfoliation improves texture and allows skincare products to absorb more effectively. However, moderation is important to avoid irritation and sensitivity.

Sun protection is often overlooked but is essential for preventing premature aging. Using sunscreen daily helps protect the skin from harmful UV rays and maintains an even skin tone. It’s a simple step that makes a significant difference over time.

A balanced diet also contributes to skin health. Foods rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and healthy fats support natural glow and resilience. Proper sleep and stress management further enhance overall skin appearance.

Beauty routines should also include self-care. Taking time to relax, massage your face, or enjoy skincare rituals promotes both physical and mental well-being. Consistency and patience are key to seeing visible improvements.

For affordable skincare tools, beauty products, and accessories, online platforms offer great variety. You can find quality beauty essentials at competitive prices on https://www.dhgate.com/, making it easier to maintain a skincare routine that fits your lifestyle and budget.

Foundation Story
Founded by three partners of French origin in 1988, LC Waikiki started its commercial life as a wholesale brand. Established and registered in Paris, LC Waikiki attracted attention with its t-shirt and sweatshirt designs in the first place. With the separation of the two founding partners of the brand in time, LC Waikiki was passed to George Amouyal as the sole shareholder. Tema Tekstil, which is connected to Taha Group and is the producer as well as licensor of LC Waikiki in Turkey, bought the worldwide rights of the LC Waikiki brand in 1997.

After the purchase of all the rights of the brand, the name of Tema Tekstil, belonging to Taha Group, was changed to “LC Waikiki Retailing Services”. The 7 percent share of the group was transferred to George Amouyal, from whom LC Waikiki’s royalties were purchased. Although George Amouyal, of French origin, has not been actively involved in the management of LC Waikiki after the brand name transfer, he still holds 7 percent of our company.

Taha Group, founded in 1988, bought LC Waikiki, which was born in Paris but grew in Istanbul, and brought it to its current level. The adventure of our brand has started with the capital support of the shareholders of Taha Dış Ticaret, which carried out import and export operations in the iron and steel sector of the period, and Taha Tekstil, a start-up in which Mustafa Küçük took responsibility as a founder/managing partner. Taha Tekstil, located in Zeytinburnu, on a small area of approximately 150 square meters on the ground floor of an apartment building, was established as a sample sewing and cutting workshop. Taha Tekstil, which exports clothing based on contract manufacturing, met with LC Waikiki via an intermediary marketer.

Upon receipt of an order of approximately ten thousand pieces of monkey t-shirts of LC Waikiki which were very popular at that time and mostly produced in countries such as India, Korea and Greece, Taha Tekstil began to organize the contract manufacturing of the brand in Turkey. Taha Tekstil has verged to production investments over time in order to meet LC Waikiki’s increasing order, printing, embroidery, label, quality and short-term production demands. These investments were made by establishing separate profit-centered companies managed by different founding/managing partners as start-ups.

The companies, which were established as printing, embroidery, label, knitted fabric, knitted dyehouse and different clothing workshops between 1990-1994, were gathered under the roof of Taha Holding, whose General Coordinator was Mustafa Küçük in 1994. Taha Tekstil, and later Taha Holding, was established by Şefik Yılmaz Dizdar as the shareholder partner and Mustafa Küçük, the founder/managing partner, with a 50 percent partnership each. In the following period, 10 percent of the share of Taha Tekstil, the parent company, was transferred to İsmail Hakkı Kısacık, the production manager at that time, and the number of shareholders of Taha Tekstil and Taha Holding increased to three.

Even though the founding/managing partners responsible for the management of each company established within Taha Holding are not shareholders in the parent company, they have joined the Taha Group family due to the partnership shares of the companies under their management. After Taha Tekstil started production of LC Waikiki for export, as the famous monkey t-shirt models of that period were in great demand in the domestic market, Turkey license of LC Waikiki was acquired by Taha Holding via Tema Tekstil which was established in 1991. Then, Turkey’s domestic market was penetrated via wholesale trading and corner dealers.

Mustafa Küçük’s brother, Vahap Küçük was appointed as the founder / managing partner of Tema Tekstil, which was established by Taha Holding to manage the wholesale organization of LC Waikiki in the domestic market. Our first retail LC Waikiki store was opened on Şişli Halaskargazi Street. Despite other retail stores were opened in different cities later on, our retail stores could not achieve the intended profitability and growth due to the financial crisis in 2000. During the financial crisis in 2000, in Taha Group companies which had difficulties in maintaining the cash flow balance and had to sell some production companies to meet their cash needs, the challenges brought by the experienced crisis prompted the management of the corporation to take radical decisions.

During this period, it was decided to separate the production group and the retail group from each other completely and to leave the wholesale dealership system and focus entirely on retailing. In line with these radical decisions, it was determined that the production companies shall focus on export under the roof of Taha Holding and under the Group Coordinator, İsmail Kısacık, who was responsible for production whereas Tema Holding and its affiliated Tema Mağazacılık, under the Chairmanship of Vahap Küçük and the CEO/Group Coordinator Mustafa Küçük, shall focus entirely on the retail sector.

Through Tema Holding and Tema Mağazacılık, merged under LC Waikiki, we act in line with our vision of becoming one of Europe’s three most successful clothing brands until 2023. With our mission “everyone deserves to dress well”, we continue to grow with our own stores domestic and abroad, and with our franchise partners in countries with legal obligations. With the factories established in various cities of Anatolia, we continue to work on the production and export of the world’s leading brands. As of 2020, we are proud to reach 22.6 billion TL net sales, approximately 50 thousand employees, 845 million USD export and more than 1000 stores.

The history of LC Waikiki

The LC Waikiki brand was first introduced in 1988 by three French partners in Paris, where it was famous for its T-shirts and ready-to-wear brands.

In 1997, the Turkish company Tema, a subsidiary of the Taha Group, bought the rights of the LC Waikiki brand entirely from the French partner George Amoyal, leaving him with 7% of the company’s shares, and LC Waikiki became a Turkish brand.

Lojas Americanas in Ipatinga.

Lojas Americanas (Portuguese for American Stores) has its headquarters in Rio de Janeiro and has 4 distribution centers, in Nova Iguaçu (Rio de Janeiro), Barueri (São Paulo), Recife (Pernambuco) and Uberlandia (Minas Gerais).

It is controlled by three Brazilian billionaires: Jorge Paulo Lemann, Marcel Herrmann Telles and Carlos Alberto Sicupira, the same trio that drives the Anheuser-Busch InBev, 3G Capital, São Carlos S.A. and other groups. The network sells over 80 thousand items of four thousand different companies.

In January 2007, Lojas Americanas acquired the Brazilian operations of the network of video rental Blockbuster for R$186.2 million and adapted to store the model Americanas Express.

History of Lojas Americanas S.A.

The company was founded in 1929 by Americans John Lee, Glen Matson, James Marshall and Batson Borger. They left the United States and went to Buenos Aires with the objective of opening a Five and Dime store. The idea was to launch a store that featured low prices, modelled after stores in the United States and Europe that became popular at the beginning of the 20th century. While on their trip to South America, they met Brazilians Aquino Sales and Max Landesman, who convinced them to change their plans and head to Rio de Janeiro.

After spending time in Rio de Janeiro, the Americans saw that there were many public employees and military personnel with stable but modest salaries. The majority of the stores in the city were not financially accessible to the general public. The existing stores were expensive and sold specialized merchandise. Consumers had to go to several different establishments to do their shopping. As a result, the Americans decided that Rio de Janeiro was the perfect city in which to launch their new concept store. They built a store that had low prices—to attend to the “forgotten” consumer populations—and sold the widest variety of products possible.

In 1929 they inaugurated the first Lojas Americanas store in Niteroi. The store slogan was “Nothing over $2”. During the first hour the store was open, no one came. Failure appeared imminent. However, one girl, after spending a few minutes looking at the window display, entered and bought a doll. And just like that, Lojas Americanas had completed its first of many sales. At the end of the first year, they had already opened four stores—three in Rio de Janeiro and one in São Paulo. By 1940, Lojas Americanas had become a corporation.

In 1982, the board members of the Grupo Garantia came on board with Lojas Americanas as shareholders. By the first quarter of 1994, they solidified the formation of a joint venture company under the name Walmart Brasil S/A with Lojas Americanas as a 40% stakeholder and Walmart as a 60% stakeholder. In 1997, by the decision of the administrative council of the company, approval was given for sale of 40% of the company to Walmart, Inc. The council approved the participation of Lojas Americanas in a deal in 1998 which detailed their actionary control of 23 stores with the French supermarket company Comptoirs Modernes, connected to Grupo Carrefour). Lojas Americanas later decided to end the association and focus on their primary business of discount stores.

Wish is an American online e-commerce platform for transactions between sellers and buyers. Wish was founded in 2010 by Piotr Szulczewski (former CEO) and Danny Zhang (former CTO).

Wish is operated by ContextLogic Inc. in San Francisco, United States. The platform personalizes the shopping experience visually for each customer, rather than relying only on a search bar format. It allows sellers to list their products on Wish and sell directly to consumers. Wish works with payment service providers to handle payments and does not stock the products themselves or manage returns.

History

Wish was started by Piotr Szulczewski, a former Google engineer, as a software company called ContextLogic. In September 2010, ContextLogic received $1.7 million in investments and involved Yelp CEO Jeremy Stoppelman.

In May 2011, Szulczewski invited college friend Danny Zhang to relaunch the company as Wish. It was created as an application that allowed shoppers to create wish lists of their favorite products before matching them with merchants. They also earned revenue with a Pay-per-click model by advertising on Facebook.

In 2013, Szulczewski met with Hans Tung, an investor with GGV Capital in Menlo Park, California, and noted that a large number of sales were coming from Florida, Texas and the Midwest rather than New York or California. Wish became an e-commerce site after asking merchants to host their products directly on the Wish application, with Wish taking a portion of each sale.

The Wish marketplace is accessed by the Wish.com website or by a mobile application that is available for iOS and Android.

In 2017, Wish was the most downloaded e-commerce application in the United States. It signed a multi-year partnership with the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers. Wish conducted a World Cup campaign in 2018, that featured Neymar, Paul Pogba, Tim Howard, Gareth Bale, Robin van Persie, Claudio Bravo and Gianluigi Buffon.

In 2018, Wish was the most-downloaded e-commerce application worldwide and the company doubled its revenue to $1.9 billion.

As of 2019, Wish was the third-biggest e-commerce marketplace in the United States by sales. In August 2019, ContextLogic received a Series H funding round, led by equity firm General Atlantic, taking the company’s valuation to $11.2 billion.JD.com is an investor in Wish. ContextLogic went public via an IPO in 2020.

In France in November 2021, the Wish e-commerce system, including the website and smartphone applications, were delisted from Google’s search results and from Google’s French app store, after French authorities claimed that many items sold on the platform do not comply with European regulations. The same authorities also accused the platform of selling counterfeit items In January 2022, Wish appointed Vijay Talwar as the new CEO.

Services

More than 1 million merchants list their products on Wish’s platform to sell directly to consumers. The bulk of the merchandise available through the app in the United States comes from China and other non-U.S. distributors. The products are usually smaller items that are cheaper to ship, aided by an agreement between China Post and the U.S. Postal Service that lowers costs of shipping for goods weighing less than 2 kg. Wish offers express shipping in 5 days, or 6–8 days in some cases, as well as standard shipping that takes 2–3 weeks, for customers who prioritize savings over speed of delivery.

Wish’s “Wheel of Fortune”-style game, Blitz Buy, integrates a layer of gamification to offer consumers additional discounts on top-selling items.

Criticism

Wish has been criticized for listing poor quality or counterfeit goods, a common concern among major e-commerce sites which feature independent sellers.[22][23][24] Customers have complained about lack of communication from sellers and quality. In response to the criticism, Szulczewski hired an executive from Facebook to organize a community of about 10,000 Wish users to expose unsatisfactory dealers in exchange for free goods and discounts.

It is often possible to purchase items from Wish that are not legal in the purchaser’s country. In January 2020, a man from Nelson, Lancashire, United Kingdom, was sentenced to 11 months in prison for purchasing a stun gun using Wish.

It began expanding the store nationwide in the 1980s (as part of the Dayton-Hudson Corporation), and introduced new store formats under the Target brand in the 1990s. The company has found success as a cheap-chic player in the industry. The parent company was renamed Target Corporation in 2000, and divested itself of its last department store chains in 2004. It suffered from a massive, highly publicized security breach of customer credit card data and the failure of its short-lived Target Canada subsidiary in the early 2010s, but experienced revitalized success with its expansion in urban markets within the United States.

Target introduced the “PFresh” store prototype in 2006, which expanded its grocery selection in general-merchandise locations by upwards of 200%. Newly constructed stores that follow the PFresh format are roughly 1,500 square feet (140 m2) larger than properties without groceries, although retain the Target branding because their offerings are considerably more limited than SuperTarget. PFresh sells perishable and frozen foods, baked goods, meat, and dairy. The company remodeled 109 stores accordingly in 2006, and renovated another 350 stores the following year. The company’s decision to close their garden centers opened floor space for PFresh expansion and larger seasonal departments beginning in 2010.

Target Greatland locations have since been converted to stores following the PFresh format beginning in 2009.

The first SuperTarget hypermarket opened in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1995, and expanded upon the Target Greatland concept with the inclusion of a full grocery department. The company expanded their grocery assortment in 2003 and adopted the modified tagline “Eat Well. Pay Less.” (in reference to their tagline “Expect More. Pay Less.”) in 2004. In the early 2000s, 43 locations (of nearly 100) featured E-Trade trading stations, although they were all closed by June 2003 after E-Trade determined that “we were not able to make it into a profitable distribution channel.”

When comparing itself with rival Walmart Supercenter hypermarkets, then-chief executive Gregg Steinhafel opined that Walmart operates like “a grocer that happens to also sell general merchandise,” where in contrast, its less aggressive expansion of SuperTarget stores is indicative of their position that the grocery industry as a “high-impact, low-cost” side project. The company operated 239 SuperTarget locations as of September 2015; they each encompass an estimate of 174,000 square feet (16,200 m2).

The Target Debit Card withdraws funds from the customer’s existing checking account, and allows for up to $40 “cash back”. The debit card allows guests to save 5% off each purchase. In late 2017, Target replaced its REDcard slogan, “Save 5% Today, Tomorrow, & Everyday with Target REDcard”, when it rolled out new benefits for REDcard holders by offering exclusive products on Target.com and preorders with “Everyday Savings.
Target.com owns and oversees the company’s e-commerce initiatives, such as the Target.com domain. Founded in early 2000 as target.direct, it was formed by separating the company’s existing e-commerce operations from its retailing division and combining it with its Rivertown Trading direct-marketing unit into a stand-alone subsidiary. In 2002, target.direct and Amazon.com’s subsidiary Amazon Enterprise Solutions created a partnership in which Amazon.com would provide order fulfillment and guest services for Target.com in exchange for fixed and variable fees. After the company sold Marshall Field’s and Mervyn’s in 2004, target.direct became Target.com.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about Target

Are there any promo codes for Target?
Target frequently offers promo codes to its shoppers. Some will be specific to one category or group of items, so stay alert for any discount codes for your wishlist items!

How do I redeem Target coupon codes?
When browsing online or via the app, make sure you’re logged in to your Target account to save the Target deals you’re interested in that can then later be redeemed during online checkout, or in store using your mobile number or Target Circle barcode. You can find your barcode in your account or Wallet in the Target app.

How can I get Target discounts online?
Be sure to bookmark Target’s Weekly Ad and Circle Offers to see all the retailer’s latest available deals and discounts.

Are there coupons for Target?Yes. Target frequently offers coupons. You can find them in its Weekly ad, as well as in the app. And, if you’re signed up for the Target rewards program (Target Circle), you’ll be served special exclusive coupons that are only for rewards members.

Does Target have online coupons?
Yes. Frequently. You can find Target’s online coupons in the form of promo codes on its site. Or sign in to your Target account (or use the Target app) to “clip” online coupons that you’d like to apply to your order.

Does Target have printable coupons?
Target no longer offers printable coupons, but that doesn’t mean they’ve stopped offering coupons all together. Here’s how to find Target deals:

1. Browse Target’s Weekly Ad (either printed or online)
2. Check out Circle Offers online and in the Target app
3. See other ways to save at Target straight from our experts

Where can I find coupons for Target? To find a Target coupon or Target coupon code, check out Target’s website, its weekly ad and its app. Or, log in to Target.com and see which coupons are available to you.

How do I get coupons on the Target app?
Download the app and sign up for Target Circle. Then, when you’re using the app, tap Target Circle offers. This is where you will find Target coupons, Target coupon codes, Target promo codes and percent-off offers. Just hit the “+” symbol next to the Target offer you’d like to “clip” and use later. These discount offers will be added to your Target wallet so that when you check out, you won’t ever miss out on savings. That’s so much easier than clipping a physical coupon only to lose it before you can use it.

Where can I find Target’s weekly ad?
Target’s weekly ad can be found on its website at weeklyad.target.com, or you can register for emails and have it sent straight to your inbox. Those who have the Target app can pull up the ad from there.

How do I use a promo code on Target.com?
Visit your cart and under “Order summary” you will see a box to add a promo code. Enter your code, click “apply” and viola!

Can you stack coupons at Target?
Not in the traditional sense of applying as many coupons as you want against one item. BUT you CAN maximize coupons within the official Target coupon policy: One manufacturer coupon and one Target coupon (including a Circle coupon) can be used against a single item. You can use both percent-off discounts and promo codes on your entire cart (unless the fine print on the Target offer tells you otherwise).

Plus, you can combine gift card offers with Target Circle offers and other coupons. Target frequently offers $5 or $10 gift cards when you spend a certain amount on a brand or within a category. As long as you make the minimum purchase required to snag the gift card offer, you can use a coupon, too, and save.

How do I get free shipping at Target?
You need to spend more than $35 on a purchase in order to qualify for free shipping at Target. If you are a RedCard member, you get free shipping even if you do not reach the free shipping minimum.

How do I sign up for rewards with Target?
Ask a store associate to sign up for Target Circle Rewards or sign up online. This will give you access to special weekly Target Circle offers, a free birthday gift and a 1% store credit bonus for everything you purchase.

How to use Target’s app to save on purchases
Here’s how to make the most of your money using the Target app: The Target app highlights Target Circle offers, a free program where you can find hundreds of weekly deals and earn 1% cash back rewards on Target purchases. App users get an easily scannable version of all the coupons Target has that week, and even serves up special offers for your birthday if you create an account. You can also upload any Target gift cards to your app so all your savings can be in one place!

What happened to Target’s Cartwheel deals and app?
In 2017, Target rolled Cartwheel into the Target app, meaning that everything you loved about Cartwheel – like finding deals at your store and redeeming savings with one barcode scan – can now be done through one app. Hooray for no more flipping back and forth!

How do I sign up for a Target registry?
Talk to an associate in store or sign up through the “Registry” tab on Target’s website. Target offers registries for babies, weddings, college students, new homeowners and even custom occasions, where you can register for items or even Target gift cards so you buy items not filled from your registry. Registry users get a 15% off coupon for purchasing one or more items on their wish list, and have up to a year to return any registry item.

What is Target’s return policy?
Return most items within 90 days for a full refund or exchange. If you have a RedCard, you get an additional 30 days to return items. All customers also have a year to return items from Target-owned brands or from a registry. You can return items bought in store or online to any store, but online purchases can also be returned by mail. Lost your receipt? Return the item in-store as a Target associate can look up your receipt using your original payment method and issue your refund or exchange that way.

What is Target’s shipping policy?
Standard shipping at Target is $5.99 and express shipping is available for an added cost. Get free shipping by spending more than $35 or making your purchase with a RedCard. Select items may be available for free two-day shipping as well. Orders not eligible for two-day shipping will be delivered within three to five business days.

Does Target offer a senior discount?
Target does not currently offer a senior discount at this time but it does offer lots of other ways to save!

Does Target offer a military discount?
In honor of Veteran’s Day, Target offers a weeklong 10% discount to all U.S. active-duty military personnel, veterans and their families. Some exclusions apply.

How do I get Target text coupons?

Target no longer sends coupons via text, nor can you sign up for text coupons. Instead, you can sign up for coupons with your email on Target’s site. Or, get the Target app, sign up for a Target account and get coupons in the app.

How do I get the Target car seat trade-in coupon?

To get the 20% Target coupon for car seat trade-in, you must bring in an old car seat during the Target Car Seat Trade In event. This event usually takes place in the spring and fall. Bring the old car seat in, and use your phone to scan the coupon code on the drop box. You’ll get 20% off toward an eligible purchase of baby gear. Your coupon can be redeemed twice.

How can I get free Target gift cards?

Yes. Target frequently offers free $5 to $20 gift cards with select purchases. The way these offers generally work is, you spend a certain amount on a specific category or brand (often cleaning supplies, baby necessities or household essentials) and get a Target gift card to spend later. You’ll find these free gift card offers in the Target weekly ad.

Can you use coupons at Target self checkout?

Yes. Just use the scanner at self checkout to scan your coupon barcode. Or, if you’ve digitally “clipped” Target coupons in the Target app, you can scan your Target app barcode and have those coupons applied automatically.

How do Decathlon Voucher codes help in your online shopping?

Getting a coupon code is not challenging. It is pretty easy to obtain online. You can get it on the website. Besides, you can also get it on coupon sites like that. You need to copy the code and use it during checkout or the final payment.

Decathlon S.A. (French pronunciation: [dekatlɔ̃]) is a French sporting goods retailer. With over 1,697 stores in 60 countries and regions (2020), it is the largest sporting goods retailer in the world.

The company manages the research, design, production, logistics and distribution of its products in house; partners with global suppliers; and markets their own brands directly to consumers in Decathlon-branded big-box stores.

Decathlon is a family-owned company, founded in 1976, and inspired by the belief that the best sports products should be accessible to everyone.

Ever-evolving and high performance design, the best quality at the lowest possible price, and expert advice that customers of all ages, backgrounds and skill levels can access in-store or online, from anywhere, at any time, is what makes us who we are. And we’re pretty proud of that.

Sports in India have reached new heights. The sporting industry has seen a drastic shift in terms of being a one-sport nation. With the upsurge in multi-sport viewing nations, the sports business has also thrived visibly. Sports as a business is going through a grinding cycle of change. One of the major wheels of this cycle is the Decathlon Group. Let us dive deep into their history, business, and various other things.

History of Decathlon Group

Founded by Michel Leclercq in 1976, Decathlon started with a store in Lille, France.[7] Its holding company was formerly known as Oxylane.

Later on, the company expanded abroad a decade later to Germany, Spain, Italy, South Korea, Australia, and Canada, etc.

Business

Decathlon fairly dominates the sporting market worldwide. Additionally, the brand has seen steady growth in various countries including India. Similarly, the business is vertically integrated. They design and develop their own products. Marketing is under more than 20 brands. Following are a few examples:

Aptonia

B’Twin

Caperlan

Inesis

Kuikma

Nabaiji

Rockrider

Sandever

Tribord

Urball

Values

Decathlon’s main mission is to make sport accessible to every person in the world. Similarly, they believe that sport has the power to change the globe. Therefore, as a company, they anticipate helping, inspire and guiding through varied sporting experiences.

Locations

As of May 2021, Decathlon operated 1,655 Decathlon stores worldwide in nearly 1,000 cities and 65 countries.

Online delivery has been introduced in Australia, Bangladesh, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Chile, Colombia, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong SAR, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mainland China, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Philippines, Romania, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, United Kingdom, and recently, Egypt, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and parts of Canada (Ontario & Quebec).

In India, Decathlon products may be purchased directly through their stores, subsequent to change in India’s FDi policy and approval for Decathlon in February 2013. In addition to this, Decathlon products are also available online through their online resellers.

In late 2016, an online only delivery service was introduced in Tunisia in preparation of the opening in Tunis of its first store. The first store opened in November 2017 in Tunis City commercial center in Tunis. A second location opened in April 2018 in the country situated in La Marsa.

In February 2017, they opened the first store in Bogota, Colombia in the mall Parque La Colina.

In July 2017, Decathlon entered the Philippine market with a location at Festival Mall in Filinvest Corporate City, Alabang, Muntinlupa, and in Tiendesitas, Pasig. In August 2017, the company announced it would open its first Canadian store in Brossard, Quebec during the spring of 2018.

In November 2017, Decathlon entered the Indonesia market.

Economic review

Its success has greatly contributed to the decline of independent retailers in France, while the spread of its own brands has caused great difficulties for traditional manufacturers. 2008 was a record year for the company as the brand Decathlon had beaten all its competitors on three key points: margin, market share, and highest turnover per square meter of retail space. It is arguably the third at a global level. A 2008 survey of 774 catchment areas at the request of the Ministry of Economy and Finance shows that “for sporting goods, Decathlon is dominant in 92.8% of zones”. This dominant position has the effect of marginalizing its commercial competitors, including independent retailers.

Social standards

Decathlon claims to follow a strict policy when it comes to employee welfare and that all contractors working with Decathlon follow the Human Responsibility in Production (HRP) process in all activities. The HRP designates the management system and resources implemented by Decathlon relative to workplace conditions at production sites and with suppliers.

Since 2003, Decathlon has adopted a social charter of the Social and Environmental Responsibility World Forum regarding human rights, health and safety, respect for the environment, corruption and management and communication.

Decathlon has, however, declined to disclose the names of their suppliers, and has been under scrutiny after reports indicate that the company’s suppliers in Sri Lanka’s free trade zones violate the country’s labor laws.

Competition

In 2009, Decathlon’s sector rivals, Go Sport [fr] and Sport 2000 [fr], joined forces to set up a common purchasing centre in Switzerland, intended to “pressurize most of the major international suppliers”, according to François Neukirsh, Managing Director of Go Sport, in the newspaper Les Échos. Otherwise, the company does not have significant competition due to their specific target audience in mass-market retail. Intersport is also a major competitor mainly in European market.

Boohoo Group plc is a British online fashion retailer, aimed at 16–30 year olds. The business was founded in 2006, and had sales in 2019 of £856.9 million. It specialises in own brand fashion clothing, with over 36,000 products. Growing rapidly, the company has acquired the brands and online presence of several defunct high street retailers, and also seen controversy over working conditions at some of its suppliers.

History

Boohoo was founded in 2006 by Mahmud Kamani and Carol Kane, who respectively serve as group executive chairman and an executive director, and who previously supplied high street chains such as Primark and New Look. The company completed its initial public offering (IPO) in March 2014, with its shares trading considerably above the 50p float price on the company’s debut in the AIM sub-market of the London Stock Exchange. Valuing Boohoo at almost £600 million, the floatation saw Kamani net £135 million and Kane £25 million.

Boohoo has been criticised for promoting fast-fashion which critics claim comes at a cost to those making the clothes and the environment. More than half of Boohoo’s garments are produced in the UK, especially Leicester, London, and Manchester. Boohoo buys 75%–80% of the clothing produced in Leicester. This was made possible when other retailers such as ASOS reduced the amount they sourced from Leicester over concerns about working conditions. In 2017, the Channel 4 television documentary series Dispatches found that factories in Leicester supplying Boohoo (along with New Look, River Island and Missguided) were paying workers less than the national minimum wage. Boohoo stated that the work had been subcontracted without their knowledge.

In August 2019, the online businesses of Karen Millen and Coast were bought out of administration by Boohoo for £18 million. Only the online employees were taken on by Boohoo and the standalone retail stores eventually closed.[9] Early in the COVID-19 pandemic, Boohoo reported an increase in sales.[10] In June 2020, Boohoo announced that it was to acquire the brands and websites of high street chains Oasis Stores and Warehouse for £5.25 million.

In late June 2020, workers’ rights group Labour Behind the Label produced a report that stated factories supplying Boohoo were not following to social distancing and forcing employees to work even if sick, claims that Boohoo denied. This was followed by an investigative report by The Sunday Times which claimed to have found that workers producing clothes for Boohoo at a Leicester-based company were paid £3.50 an hour, less than half the UK minimum wage for over 25s. Boohoo again distanced themselves from the company, a representative stating “We are taking immediate action to thoroughly investigate how our garments were in their hands, will ensure that our suppliers immediately cease working with this company, and we will urgently review our relationship with any suppliers who have sub-contracted work to the manufacturer in question.” Standard Life Aberdeen, an asset manager and a top 10 shareholder in the group, announced that it had sold most of its stake in the company a few days after the Sunday Times revelations. SLA said that after engaging with Boohoo’s management team a number of times during the week, it found the online retailer’s response to the allegations was “inadequate in scope, timeliness and gravity”. On 15 July 2020 a Conservative Party MP said that it was ‘shameful’ that it took a pandemic for Boohoo to finally be taken to task for its workplace practices. Philip Dunne, chairman of the Environmental Audit committee, also said that the company had not met a pledge to join the Ethical Trading Initiative organisation which brings together retailers, unions and campaign groups to improve practice in supply chains.

In September the company accepted the findings of a report by Allison Levitt QC, which found that the allegations of poor working practices in the company’s supply chain were “substantially true”, that its monitoring of the factories was “inadequate” due to “weak corporate governance”, and that its failure to assess the risk to workers during the coronavirus pandemic were “inexcusable”. In November 2020 it appointed former judge Sir Brian Leveson to provide independent ethical oversight. An investigation by The Guardian newspaper in December 2020 traced Boohoo’s supply chain to factories in Pakistan where workers claimed to be paid as low as £47 a month, less than the legal minimum wage, and ordered to work to shifts as long as 24 hours without receiving full overtime pay.

In January 2021, following the collapse of the UK department store chain Debenhams, Boohoo bought the brand and online business for £55 million. The deal did not include the firm’s stores or workforce, leading to a predicted loss of 12,000 jobs. In February, Boohoo announced it was buying the former Arcadia Group brands: Burton, Wallis and Dorothy Perkins for £25.2 million, confirming the loss of around 2,450 jobs.

In December 2021, Boohoo has announced the expansion of operations into five new markets within the Asian region including Japan, Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Business operations

According to Chief executive Carol Kane, Boohoo can differentiate itself from its closest rivals, as all their clothing ranges are own-branded with average prices of £17 as of March 2014, comprising 9,000 clothing lines. With a primary focus on the 16–24 year old age group, it sells clothing to over 100 countries and as of June 2014 had seven major markets, including the UK, the US, and France. Stock is purchased in small quantities of between 300 and 500 items at a time, with repeat orders typically of 25% on those that sell well. Customers can order items up to midnight for next-day delivery, including on Sunday. Customer numbers increased by 29% throughout 2016–17, up to 5.8 million.

Distribution centre

Since 2010 the company’s main distribution centre has been located on the Heasandford Industrial Estate in Burnley, Lancashire. From an initial 40 employees, the site has rapidly expanded into Burnley’s largest employer, with workforce exceeding 3,500 in 2021. The company has acquired more buildings on the estate, formerly occupied by manufacturers such as TRW Automotive, and plans to continue to grow in the town. Boohoo’s head of logistics said in 2021, “Ease of distribution is key and the borough sits in the heart of the UK, whilst it also provides a skilled and varied workforce.

Corporate affairs

Boohoo also owns boohooMAN, PrettyLittleThing, Nasty Gal and MissPap, all targeted at 16–35 year olds. PrettyLittleThing was acquired in December 2016, with the retailer purchasing a 66% stake in the business at a cost of £3.3m, with the existing management team retaining the remaining shares.

During the year up to April 2017, customer browsing from mobile devices accounted for 70% of total sessions, an increase of 4% from the previous year, with downloads of its mobile app across the United Kingdom, United States and Australia totalling around 2.2 million.
